History

The Brewery has been through three distinct phases - from a small micro brewery, to a larger facility within the same building and finally to the current phase that has seen the Brewery extend its premises to accommodate more vessels and increase its brewing capacity.

Sharp's considers itself a modern brewer, with a focus on producing high quality cask ale whilst incorporating all the best practices from Britain's rich brewing heritage. They avoid using artificial additives, and unlike many breweries do not own or operate any public houses, hotels or restaurants. Their focus is solely on brewing and supplying beer to outlets across England.

On 2nd February 2011 the brewery was bought by Molson Coors Brewing Company for £20 million.[1]

Beers

Sharp's produce regular cask ales, seasonal ales, and pasteurised bottled beers.

Ale

Sharp's also produces four seasonal ales every year.

Chalky's

Sharp's collaborated with Rick Stein to create two unique beers after challenges set by Rick himself.

Chalky’s Bark (4.5% abv), is triple fermented with ginger that works in synergy with continental hops.

Chalky's Bite (6.8% abv),[4] is created with a balance of three different hop varieties and wild Cornish fennel.

Cider

Orchard Cider (4.5%) is a Cornish kegged cider manufactured in collaboration with Cornish Orchards in Duloe. Cider makers Andy Atkinson and Jon Clare employ traditional production methods and use apples harvested in Cornwall and the South West.[5]
